Nate Riordan received a B.A. with honors from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1992 and graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1998. Nate practiced law in Minneapolis until 2004, where he practiced in the areas of corporate bankruptcy, workouts, restructures, finance, franchise, and corporate and transactional law. In 2004, Nate moved to Seattle and has practiced there ever since.
In 2005, Nate Riordan founded West Coast Franchise Law. Today, he assists in the purchasing and selling of franchised businesses, real estate sales and acquisitions, leasing, multi-unit development, financing, reviewing franchise documents, negotiating complex multi-year deals with franchisors, and drafting partnership agreements. Nate is highly regarded for his collaborative approach with his staff, clients, opposing counsel, and his vendors.
Combined with his extensive experience in bankruptcy law, Nate stands at the intersection of bankruptcy and franchising, bringing a unique and valuable perspective.
This year, Nate was recognized as a Legal Eagle by the Franchise Times for his work in franchise law. Additionally, he was named a 2023 Seattle Super Lawyer, an honor bestowed on only 5% of the lawyers in Washington each year, in both franchise law and bankruptcy law. This is the 5th year Nate has been named a Seattle Super Lawyer.
